What’s brewing in the Lab

Currently we have a lot of mead brewing in the Amazing Mead Alchemy Lab – 64 litres in total!

Brewing:

  • Bramble melomel, started 1st August (2L)
  • Yule mead, started 2nd August (30L)
  • Clover show mead (using D47 yeast), started 22nd August (2L)
  • Clover show mead (using EC-1118 yeast), started 22nd August (2L)
  • Ginger metheglyn, started 22nd August (5L)
  • Apricot melomel, started 22nd August (5L)
  • Quick spiced orange mead, started 22nd August (2L)
  • Raspberry pyment, started 23rd August (2L)

Racked:

  • Strawberry & vanilla melomel (5L) racked 23/8/13, currently at 14% ABV
  • Marmalade melomel (4L) racked 23/8/13, currently at 6.8% ABV
  • Acerglyn (a mead brewed with maple syrup & honey, 5L) racked 23/8/13, 14% ABV

Unfortunately the kitchen in the new house is not as big as my old kitchen was, so I’m rapidly running out of space for all this mead! I think some of these bottles may have to be stored in the outside shed for maturing….

Hi there! I am opening a new venue near Hackney Downs and we are interested in working with you to stock and possibly make our own meads. Let me know if you are interested: drinkwithdan@gmail.com
